BLACK N' BLUE

Good morning, Everyone! How is your week going so far?

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to a few of my recent Fall acquisitions, starting with the amazing leather detail coat I'm wearing in this post. If I had to name the most essential piece of outwear every girl should have in her closet, a great black coat would be it.

Aside from impeccable tailoring, fit and length, reason why I love this particular one, is the presence of those leather details. You know me, I can't live without a bit of embellishment!:) But in this particular instance, I feel that the leather collar and sleeves add a bit of an edge to an otherwise classic-fitting coat.

Another essential I can't imagine living without is a pair of black skinny jeans. Currently, I am a bit partial to coated denim, and the jeans I am wearing in today's post are definitely my favorite pair at the moment. Generally speaking a pair of perfect-fitting black jeans is not always easy to find, but these are soft and comfortable, yet have enough stretch to maintain shape throughout the day. Oh, and my personal favorite thing about them - rose gold zipper detailing on the sides:)

Finally, I don't think it's a secret I am a little obsessed with cobalt. Ok, maybe a little more than obsessed:) But in my defense, cobalt is one of those amazing colors that pairs beautifully with just about anything. Naturally, once I spotted this gorgeous trapeze bag featuring bright cobalt front, black leather and metal corners, it was love at first sight! It's completely crazy but it looks great with everything in my closet! Seriously! So, hopefully you won't mind seeing quite a bit of this bad boy on my blog in the near future:)!

Pretty Floral

Skirt & Top by Zara, Christian Louboutin Pumps & Chanel Boy Bag

Hello gorgeous people, how are you? I hope everything is well and you are enjoying your fabulous weekend.

I have had a long week so far. From endless events, meetings, hospital appointments to photo-shoots and training for the San Francisco half marathon with Nike.. I am not lying when I say, I have not done any sort of work out since the last marathon, which was back in November last year. You can just imagine how I am feeling right now.

But hey, any challenge is good right?

Cozy Basics

J.Crew Collection turtleneck // Rich & Skinny jeans c/o (similar) Schutz heels (more options below) // YSL bag A cashmere turtleneck with boyfriend jeans is such a cozy, classic combo. Add a fun pair of heels to the mix and you’re ready for brunch with the girls and a day of shopping. I’ve been taking major advantage of the winter sales that are going on this week. Don’t miss out! Stuart Weitzman just marked down the 5050 boots, Tibi just marked down this gorgeous lace dress and this peplum top, and Shopbop just added a ton of new items to their sale section.

Pumpkin Spice

H and M sweater, [similar faux leather shorts], GUESS Dandra boots, Rebecca Minkoff bag, Kenneth Cole earrings [similar], Prada sunglasses

October is the very only month in the entire year that I will wear orange and black together. It just screams Halloween! But there is something about this beautiful glowing orange sweater that I just couldn't resist and I am excited to wear this sweater with denim later on during the winter months.

I've started wearing earrings for the first time in years. This is not because I suddenly got my ears pierced or I found a special metal/metal coating. (I got my ears pierced around 15 years ago and they have never closed. As for anything that goes through the piercing, my ear simply cannot stand it.) It is because I finally realized I can just buy any earrings that catch my eye and then convert them into clip-ons! It's pretty easy and all you need are needle nose pliers, epoxy 330 glue, foam, toothpicks, clip-ons and earrings.

As for these boots, I did think they looked better on my sister who has wider legs which filled out the boot better. Regardless, I really like how the heel is at a comfortable height and they do stay up like a proper thigh boot should. Also don't forget to enter the GUESS sweepstakes on Instagram by tagging your photo with #BootieShot and #PosttoEnter to win a weeks worth of GUESS shoes!

Office-Ready

Sheinside blazer, White House/Black Market leopard shirt and earrings, Francescas pants [similar], Prada Saffiano Lux bag, Steve Madden heels [similar] A little office ready inspiration for Monday :) Seriously in love with my new silk leopard blouse and earrings from my first White House/Black Market mini haul. I think it is part of their newest collection. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Sarena

BB Dakota faux fur vest, HM top and denim, Amrita Singh necklace, Ivanka Trump Sarena boots, Coach bag [similar] I felt like going for a cozy look since I planned to be out in the evening. My statement necklace by Amrita Singh really steals the show but of course the faux fur and suede OTK (over the knee) boots pull it all together. In fact, faux fur vests are so versatile that I've probably been wearing this one (off the blog) a little too much. But that is most definitely a good thing :).

Fall Elements

Finally, a fall look. And unfortunately, still no fall weather. As you can probably tell I walked in circles to shoot this so you could really see a lot more angles than we typically go for :) I personally love the color combo but more than anything it's the cut that matters here.

These booties add a lot of edginess while the skirt keeps it feminine and the shirt gives a cozy feel. (It is actually the coziest shirt I have ever felt.) I brought along a tweed jacket too but it is still not cold enough for that! By the way — the Naturebox giveaway is ending tonight and GUESS.com is giving away a week's worth of shoes.

PASTELS IN FALL

Pink Coat (obsessed!- runs big wearing size XS - also loving this one) // Powder Blue Sweater (similar blue sweater here & in love with this cable-knit one) // Forever 21 Denim (old similar here) // Pink Patent Heels
ACCESSORIES.
Blue Bag // Gold Chain Watch // Sunglasses // Gold Rings (40% off code: SERIOUS40)

The soft pink tones of spring and summer have now made their way into fall and winter. but designers have strayed from the typical jewel-toned and neutral palettes that used to dominate fall fashion by incorporating soft tones into their collections. By taking a few cues from their designs, we can flawlessly rock these soft, feminine colors year-round.

o   Transforming with texture: Bring your fall look together by incorporating thicker textures into your ensemble. This season is full of great pastel pieces in heavier fabrics, like this coat. To fuse a fall-vibe into softer shades with a lighter material, pair with heavier knits or other textures typical of fall. Incorporating a fall nail color is another great way to give your look an autumn feel.
o   Neutrals are always in season: You can never go wrong by pairing a pastel with a neutral. Consider staples, like nudes, camels, greys and blacks. For advanced styling, mix popular jewel tones into your outfit or bring soft tones into fall from head to toe by rocking a monochromatic look.

Poncho (size small - on sale - extra 20% off) // Navy Top (on sale - extra 20% off) // Gold Chain Watch  // Khaki Leggings // Tory Burch Boots // Rings // Sunglasses // Michael Kors Handbag

I love the classic color combination of navy, cognac, and gold. Something about the combo seems timeless and sophisticated.  I've been anxious to get a poncho for Fall. I was immediately drawn to the detailing on this one with the faux leather pockets and gold zippers on the side.

Faux-Leather-Pocket Cardigan
Gold Chain Watch
Chunky Knit Cowl-Neck Sweater
Michael Kors Jet Set Crossbody
Michael Kors Selma Medium Satchel
Navy Michael Kors Hamilton Saffiano Leather Tote
Buckle Bangle Bracelet
Deep Red Lip Lacquer
Michael Kors Gold and Black Watch

Neutral Work Wardrobe

I've had a lot of meetings the last couple weeks at my other job, so it has been a more dressy couple weeks than usual. I like to add a subtle color against the typical white, black, and navy work ensemble. These pencil skirtsare an easy way to add that detail (see the neon pink one I wore ).

I'm so excited about these white embossed pumps. I've been looking for a white pump that has a little more shizam, and the subtle texture on these is perfect. I've found one of the keys to wearing multiple pieces of white is mixing textures.

The children are here for a form of associative magic, and symbolizes the future
children of the new couple. The custom of throwing grains, rice or confetti over bride and groom is associated with a symbol of fertility. Wedding Symbols Wedding symbols and meanings Even the wedding cake is included in this symbolism, is considered as a mark of bride capacity to bring children into the world. Habit to break glasses wedding is also related to the former meanings night spent together by the new couple, the "consumption" of marriage. wedding cake wedding cake tradition originated in ancient Rome, when a cake made of flour was crumbled over the bride's head to bring good luck. Queen Victoria wore for the first time a white wedding dress, violating the established tradition for royal brides a vestamant silver. Afterward, White, symbol of purity and innocence, has been adopted by more and more brides. Currently, every bride is free to choose any color you want, which I think suits for wedding dress. In an old folk rhyme in Warwickshire, England, to draw attention to the colors of the wedding dress: "Married in white, you Will have choosen all right, Married in gray, Will you go far away, Married in Black, Will you wish yourself back, Married in red, you'll wish yourself dead, Married in blue, you Will always BE true, Married in pearl, you'll live in a whirl, Married in green, ashamed to be seen, Married in yellow, ashamed of the fellow, Married in brown, you'll live out of town, Married in pink, your spirits sink Will. " "Married in white, you have chosen well entirely, Married in gray, you will go far away, Married in Black you want to come back, Married in Red, you will wish you were dead, Married in blue, you will always be sincerely perliu sea, you will live like a whirlwind, sea green, ashamed to be seen, Married in yellow, ashamed of your husband, Married in brown, you'll live out of town, Married in Pink, your hopes will drown. " bride should wear something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. A penny placed in the bride's left shoe is believed to promote prosperity in marriage. View and shoes, bridal and wedding superstitions and traditions "Something old" was ideal, an object belonging to an old wives happy. For this practice magic to work, it was necessary for her husband to be alive. In this way, the luck enjoyed old wife was "transferred" bride. "Something new" was, usually, even the wedding dress, and any other item of clothing again. "Something Borrowed" means originally a object of gold, jewelry often borrowed from a relative. Gold objects symbolize the sun, the source of life on earth, and his conduct means a union between the sun and the bride. "Something Blue" was held in honor of the wedding, the protector of all women. was considered inauspicious for a girl to her make your own wedding dress or wear before the wedding day. In another superstition, it is recommended that the bride should not look in the mirror after he was fully dressed, before going to church marriage ceremony. More on this topic in the article: wedding dress in superstitions, legends and traditions veil Bride There are many assumptions about the origin of the wedding veil. The most popular of them claims that it was worn to hide the bride of the spirits evil beauty, able to kidnap him. As a result, the veil was not raised until the wedding ceremony ends. In another explanation, wedding veil appear evil eye or evil eye, which could impede the success of marriage. On the other hand, the veil can come from the East, where a man sees his bride's face only after marriage officiant. Some folklorists believe that the bride's veil signifies obedience to her husband. Ancient Greeks and Romans used a large canvas, a large veil that covered both the bride and groom to keep the evil eye both. It is possible, therefore, that the veil also come from this tradition. In another type of associative magic, some brides prefer to wear the veil a friend or relative who has a happy marriage. 's: wedding veil in superstitions, traditions and customs bouquet flowers symbolize fertility, denoting bouquet consequently fertility young wife. Wheel giving bouquet ribbons are endowed with the ability to bring good luck. At the end of each ribbon is customary to do so-called "nodes loved" signifying unity and completeness. Throwing the bouquet to see who will be the next bride is a relatively new tradition. flowers buttonhole Small flowers (or stylized symbols of them) were originally worn buttonhole given to wedding guests as a sign of good luck. wedding ring wedding ring or wedding ring is a perfect circle, with no beginning or end, a symbol of the union, eternity and completeness. In ancient Egypt, married women wore wrist bracelets grass. In this way, they signal the others as they are not available, but they accepted the dominion and protection of their husbands. Ancient Romans were the ones who introduced the rings of precious metals such as silver, gold, platinum. It shows not only that a woman was married, but her husband was eager to bestow possessions price. wedding rings were worn on different fingers of the hand over time. In ancient Greece were placed on the index finger and thumb in India. Eventually, it became traditional to ring to be present on the fourth finger of the left hand, ring finger. According to ancient Egyptian beliefs, the finger was connected directly to the heart through a vein. Once placed on the ring finger, the ring was considered to guard and maintain love for partner marriage. In Victorian times, it was customary for the bridesmaids to pass a piece of wedding cake with the bride's wedding ring nine times. This magical process, were convinced that they will find the one and he will marry within a year. More on this topic in the article: wedding in superstitions and traditions Throwing Rice Throwing rice over the newlyweds is an ancient tradition, probably originated in the East, where rice is a symbol of fertility, prosperity and health. As a result of dumping of rice over the happy couple was an effective way to bless their marriage with this quality. ancient Romans threw walnuts and all sorts of sweets to the bride. Anglo-Saxons sprinkle wheat and barley on the floor of the church for the bride to walk across the grain. Another possible source of this custom is the belief that evil spirits are attracted to weddings. Envious or jealous of the bride, you can not help but still eat rice, remaining so far from it. Honeymoon term "honeymoon" comes from the ancient Teutonic tradition of drinking mead, a wine made from honey, for a month (or lunar cycle) after the wedding. Attila the Hun is said that he drank so much mead in honey moon that he suffocated and died. habit that grooms spend a honeymoon away from home seems to have its roots in times long past, when men will take by force (rape her) brides and keep them away from their home until their relatives stopped them look. Crossing the bride over the threshold with a significance pulled hard time and habit can derive it from the old practice of marriage initiated by bride kidnapping. Another explanation may be that by wearing bride in arms over the threshold to eliminate the possibility that to prevent the entry into new home, something considered to be a bad omen for the future marriage. Horseshoe Horseshoe is seen as an amulet against the evil eye / evil eye, probability because it is a means of protection for the horses. Meanwhile, the horseshoe shape is associated with the moon rising, the crescent, the source of another symbolism. Horseshoes can be hung on a wall with their heads up and down. In the first case, they favor male energy in the second feminine energy. In both versions, there are signs of good fortune. tradition there to give newlyweds a real or decorative horseshoe an auspicious gift, having the grace to protect them home. Behind this symbol is a legend about a blacksmith (St. Dunstan) who later became Archbishop of Canterbury. One day, while he was at the studio, Saint Duncan was visited by a strange figure, enveloped in a huge cloak, which he asked to be saddled, and no horse.
